Cleveland, OH – A Freezing Fog Advisory is in effect for portions of inland Northeast Ohio and northwest Pennsylvania until 9 AM EST this morning. The National Weather Service in Cleveland warns that visibility may drop to one quarter mile or less, creating slippery conditions where freezing fog leaves a thin glaze of ice on exposed surfaces.

According to forecasters, the advisory covers Ashtabula Inland, Mahoning, and Trumbull Counties in Ohio, along with Crawford County in northwest Pennsylvania. The combination of low visibility and patchy icing is most dangerous on elevated surfaces such as bridges, ramps, and overpasses, where temperatures remain coldest.

Drivers heading toward Youngstown, Warren, Ashtabula, Meadville, and surrounding rural areas may encounter sudden drops in visibility and slick pavement. Early-morning commuters are urged to slow down, use low-beam headlights, and allow extra time for travel.

Conditions are expected to gradually improve after sunrise as temperatures rise and fog lifts.
