Cleveland, Ohio – Rain across northeast Ohio and freezing rain in northwest Pennsylvania are expected to exit by late Friday evening, setting up a quiet start to the weekend.

According to the National Weather Service office in Cleveland, leftover rain over northeast Ohio and freezing rain affecting parts of northwest Pennsylvania will move out Friday night. Behind the system, skies will remain mostly cloudy Saturday, with no additional precipitation expected across the region.

High temperatures on Saturday are forecast to be a few degrees above normal for most of northern Ohio, including Cleveland, Akron, Canton, Mansfield, and Sandusky, where highs are expected to range from the upper 30s to lower 40s. Areas of northwest Pennsylvania, including Erie and Meadville, are expected to remain slightly cooler, with highs in the mid-30s.

The National Weather Service notes that while conditions improve overnight, untreated surfaces in areas that experienced freezing rain may remain slick into the evening hours before temperatures stabilize.

Overall, the first half of the weekend is expected to remain calm, with dry weather continuing through Saturday night.

The quieter pattern may benefit commuters and travelers after a week of unsettled weather across the region.
