Cleveland, Ohio – Hot, humid weather is set to return across Northeast Ohio this week, with thunderstorm chances ramping up sharply by midweek, particularly on Thursday when rain is likely throughout much of the region.

According to the National Weather Service Cleveland, precipitation chances remain low through Tuesday, but begin increasing Wednesday with a 75% chance of storms in the afternoon and evening. The highest risk of rain arrives Thursday, with a 60–80% probability, along with highs in the mid-80s. Tuesday will be the warmest day, reaching up to 91°F in Cleveland and Akron.

Drivers and commuters should prepare for slick roads and possible lightning delays midweek, especially during the Thursday morning and evening commute. Residents in Lake, Cuyahoga, and Summit counties may want to reschedule outdoor plans or events. Humidity will also be high, so it’s wise to stay hydrated and limit time outdoors during peak afternoon hours.

By Friday, rain chances decrease slightly but remain elevated at 40–60%, with temperatures dipping into the upper 70s.

More alerts may follow as Thursday’s system develops. Stay tuned to the NWS or local emergency management for real-time updates.
