Cleveland, OH – Residents across northern Ohio and northwest Pennsylvania can expect a noticeably cooler night ahead as a cold front moves through the region Sunday evening, according to the National Weather Service in Cleveland.

Behind the front, showers will gradually end from west to east overnight, giving way to clearing skies and cooler temperatures. Forecast lows range from the low 40s in Mansfield and Marion to the upper 40s near Cleveland, Ashtabula, and Erie.

Meteorologists say the colder air will bring temperatures back to near seasonal normals for mid-October after a stretch of mild, wet weather. Breezy conditions are expected to ease overnight, with calmer winds and dry weather to start the workweek.

Monday is forecast to be partly sunny with highs in the upper 50s to near 60°F, marking a return to more typical fall weather across the Great Lakes region.

Drivers should remain cautious of wet roads early Monday morning as lingering moisture and cooler air could make for slick spots in rural areas.
