Toledo, Ohio – Pop-up storms and muggy air could disrupt outdoor plans across northwest Ohio today as a weak trough slides through the region. Temperatures will climb into the mid-80s, right on par for early August, but the bigger concern is scattered afternoon storms developing north of I-70.
According to the National Weather Service in Cleveland, light showers may start as early as 1 p.m., with chances increasing through 5 p.m. in areas like Findlay, Bowling Green, and Toledo. Rain probabilities top out near 35% in the northwest corridor, with isolated thunder possible but no widespread severe threat expected.
Cleveland, Akron, and Erie, PA should stay mostly dry, although a brief sprinkle isn’t out of the question later in the evening. Drivers along I-75 and U.S. Route 20 should watch for wet pavement and localized ponding during the late-day commute.
Humidity will remain high, and outdoor workers or event organizers in Marion, Lima, and Tiffin are advised to monitor radar for quick-moving cells.
Rain chances taper off after sunset, with drier and slightly cooler conditions expected to settle in by Thursday. Additional alerts are unlikely unless storms redevelop unexpectedly this evening.
