LAS VEGAS, Nev. – Scattered storms are tapering off across southern Nevada as hotter, drier conditions settle in through the weekend. The heaviest rain threat Wednesday centered on Esmeralda County, northern Inyo County, and the higher terrain of Clark County, but drier air is already starting to take over.

According to the National Weather Service in Las Vegas, precipitation chances will steadily fall through Friday as high pressure builds, pushing daytime highs well above seasonal averages. By Saturday, Las Vegas is expected to reach 101 degrees with only a 5% chance of rain.

Communities including Barstow, Laughlin, and Kingman will also see climbing temperatures, topping out in the upper 90s to near 105 by the weekend. While storm chances linger over the mountains, valley locations from Pahrump to Yucca Valley will trend nearly rain-free.

Drivers should remain cautious in mountain passes where isolated downpours could still trigger localized flooding through Wednesday night. Residents are urged to limit outdoor activity during peak afternoon heat, stay hydrated, and check on vulnerable neighbors as triple-digit highs return.

Dry, hot weather is likely to dominate into early next week, with the next chance of widespread rain not expected until beyond the weekend.
