LAS VEGAS — Clark County’s Department of Comprehensive Planning is reviewing multiple land use and development applications along the Las Vegas Strip and surrounding areas.

With over 42 million annual visitors to the iconic Strip, the area is a popular spot for large-scale development. Clark County’s Comprehensive Planning Department and Zoning Information Division is currently in the process of reviewing development permits for a couple of major projects, like the $2 billion ballpark project on the Strip.

During a December meeting of the Las Vegas Stadium Authority, officials said the Athletics’ stadium project remains on track for a 2028 opening. The county has approved zoning and permits with lease and non-relocation agreements, each covering 30 years. The county also approved conditions requiring the project to comply with county air quality standards, dust mitigation plans, water conservation measures, and stormwater permitting requirements.

Nevada and Clark County have also approved up to $380 million in public funds for the project, while the Athletics’ owner will pay the remaining $1.62 billion.

The county is also keeping an eye on stalled projects, such as Dream Las Vegas. In November 2025, the county approved Shopoff Realty Investments’ third request for an Extension of Time. During the review, county staff recommended that the project be classified as abandoned. While the commissioners voted to extend the extension of time, they have hinted that future extensions will be unlikely.
