Clarion, PA – A Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect through 1 p.m. Monday across Clarion, Venango and Jefferson counties as light but steady snowfall continues to make roads slick and travel slower than usual.
According to the National Weather Service in Pittsburgh, an additional 3 inches of snow is possible through late morning. Communities including Clarion, Franklin, Oil City, Punxsutawney and Brookville will experience periods of snowfall that may briefly reduce visibility and lead to snow-covered roads.
The hazardous conditions are expected to affect the Monday morning commute, with untreated roadways, bridges and overpasses becoming particularly slippery. Temperatures will remain cold enough for new snowfall to accumulate quickly, especially in shaded or rural areas.
Forecasters urge drivers to reduce speed, allow for longer braking distances and use caution when traveling on hills and secondary roads. While snowfall amounts are modest, the combination of steady snow and morning traffic could lead to delays and reduced visibility in spots.
Travelers can check updated Pennsylvania road conditions by calling 511 before heading out. The National Weather Service also encourages residents to report snow and ice accumulations through its social media channels or by phone.
Snow is expected to taper off around early afternoon, improving road conditions for the remainder of the day.
