Cincinnati, Ohio – Patchy dense fog blanketing the Ohio River Valley reduced visibility to a quarter mile or less early Wednesday, creating hazardous driving conditions across Greater Cincinnati and northern Kentucky. Storms could follow later in the day, with the potential for heavy rainfall between 4 and 6 p.m.

According to the National Weather Service in Wilmington, fog will persist through mid-morning before clearing under mostly sunny skies. Thunderstorm chances rise by late afternoon, especially across Hamilton, Boone, and Kenton counties, with rainfall totals up to a quarter inch possible during brief downpours.

Drivers should allow extra time during the morning commute and reduce speed in fog-prone areas along I-75, I-71, and US-50. Calm winds and saturated ground may keep low clouds near river valleys longer than usual. Afternoon storms are expected to be isolated but could produce locally heavy rain.

Dry and sunny conditions return Thursday through Sunday, with highs climbing from the upper 80s into the low 90s by the weekend. The next meaningful rain chance arrives Tuesday.
