Cincinnati, OH – Drivers across the Cincinnati metro could face wet roads and reduced visibility before the Monday morning commute as rain moves into southwest Ohio overnight and begins mixing with snow early in the day.
Saturday remains calm and partly sunny across Hamilton County with temperatures reaching around 54°F. Light winds and dry conditions should keep travel smooth across the region throughout the day.
According to the National Weather Service in Wilmington, Ohio, temperatures surge Sunday with highs reaching around 73°F. Breezy south winds could gust up to 40 mph, signaling a strong storm system moving toward the Ohio Valley.
Rain develops after 2 a.m. Monday, possibly accompanied by a rumble of thunder as the front moves through the area. Rainfall totals between 0.25 and 0.50 inches could lead to slick travel along major corridors including I-71, I-75, and I-275.
Colder air pushes into the region Monday morning, allowing rain to mix with and briefly change to snow showers before midday. Accumulation should remain under half an inch, but rapidly falling temperatures and gusty winds may produce isolated slick spots.
Cloudy and colder weather follows Monday night with lows dropping to around 18°F. Mostly cloudy skies remain Tuesday with highs near 32°F, while another chance of snow could return to the Cincinnati area by midweek.
