Cincinnati, Ohio – Storms could disrupt Tuesday afternoon plans across southwestern Ohio, with the Cincinnati area facing the highest risk for heavy rain and localized flooding into tonight.
According to the National Weather Service in Wilmington, scattered showers and thunderstorms are likely from midday through evening, especially south and west of Dayton, with the greatest downpour potential near the Tri-State region. Afternoon highs will climb into the mid-to-upper 80s, pushing humidity and fueling stronger cells.
The heaviest rain is forecast for communities including Cincinnati, Carrollton, and Versailles, where rainfall rates may overwhelm local drainage and trigger minor flooding on area roads and low-lying spots. Brookville and Richmond could also see brief downpours. Drivers are urged to slow down and watch for water pooling, especially during the evening commute. Power outages and street flooding are possible in the hardest-hit pockets.
If thunder roars, move indoors and stay away from windows. Keep devices charged in case of outages, and avoid unnecessary travel through the Tri-State area until storms move out late tonight. The chance for showers and storms diminishes overnight, but more advisories may follow if another round of storms develops later this week.
