Ohio and northern Kentucky are waking up to warm, humid air and a steady breeze, setting the stage for storms that could disrupt travel later today. Skies may look calm early, but conditions are already shifting as moisture builds.

According to the National Weather Service, Cincinnati will climb to near 84°F with southwest winds gusting over 30 mph. Storm chances increase later today, with showers and thunderstorms becoming more likely by late afternoon into the evening.

Across Cincinnati, Covington, and Newport, drivers along I-71, I-75, and I-275 should prepare for quick changes. Dry roads may turn slick fast as rain develops. Gusty winds ahead of storms could push vehicles on bridges over the Ohio River. Plan extra time if traveling later today.

By midweek, rain becomes more widespread. Showers increase by Wednesday morning with near steady coverage through the day. Thunderstorms remain possible, bringing bursts of heavy rain and reduced visibility during commutes.

The pattern stays active into Thursday and Friday. Additional rounds of storms develop, keeping roads wet and increasing the risk of localized ponding. While severe weather is not guaranteed every day, conditions remain favorable for stronger storms at times.

Temperatures stay warm through the stretch, holding in the upper 70s to low 80s before a cooler push arrives this weekend. That shift may bring a more comfortable feel just ahead of early April events and travel.

Plan ahead and stay weather-aware. Conditions may change quickly once storms begin to form.
