Wilmington, Ohio – Much of Ohio will see another hot day Tuesday, with temperatures edging higher than Monday and humidity building through the afternoon. Heat indices in parts of central and southern Ohio could push into the mid-90s, making outdoor activities uncomfortable.

According to the National Weather Service in Wilmington, a few showers and thunderstorms could pop up from mid-afternoon onward, but the greatest chance for widespread rain will come this evening into the overnight hours. Storms may bring brief heavy downpours, gusty winds, and lightning, especially in areas west of I-71.

Cities including Dayton, Cincinnati, and Springfield should prepare for reduced visibility and slick roads if storms roll through during the evening commute. Localized street flooding is possible where heavier rain develops. Residents are urged to secure outdoor items, check on vulnerable neighbors, and avoid driving through flooded roadways.

Conditions should improve toward sunrise Wednesday, but unsettled weather will linger midweek before cooler, drier air moves in by the weekend.
