Wilmington, Ohio – Temperatures will climb rapidly across Ohio starting Wednesday morning, with a 20 to 30 degree jump expected by Thursday afternoon, setting up one of the warmest stretches so far this spring.

According to the National Weather Service in Wilmington, a warming trend begins immediately Wednesday, with highs rising from the 60s into the mid-70s by Thursday. The agency says above-normal temperatures will hold through the end of the week, peaking near 81°F by Sunday afternoon across southwest and central Ohio.

Cities including Dayton, Cincinnati, and Columbus will see steady daytime warming, with morning lows climbing from the 30s Wednesday to the 50s by Friday. The rapid shift may impact energy use and early-season outdoor plans, especially as dry conditions dominate through Thursday.

A weak cold front moves in Friday, bringing scattered showers during the afternoon and early evening hours. Roads could become slick during peak travel times, particularly along I-70 and I-75 corridors. Behind the front, temperatures briefly dip Saturday, with highs settling back into the mid-60s.

Warm air quickly rebounds Sunday into Monday, pushing highs back into the upper 70s to near 80°F. Residents should prepare for fluctuating conditions and monitor updates as additional advisories could develop late week.
