Cicero Man Found Dead in Field After Rollover Accident on I-57 Sunday Morning

Kankakee County, IL – A tragic accident early Sunday morning on Interstate 57 near Manteno has resulted in the death of a Cicero man, according to the Kankakee County Coroner’s Office. The incident, which took place at 3:37 AM on March 3, 2024, involved a single vehicle, driven by 21-year-old Javier Garcia.

The vehicle reportedly veered off the roadway and rolled several times before coming to rest in a nearby field. Garcia was ejected from the vehicle during the accident and was found deceased in the field shortly after the crash.

The Kankakee County Coroner’s Office confirmed that an autopsy is scheduled for March 4, 2024, to further investigate the cause of death. The Illinois State Police Troop 5 is leading the investigation into the circumstances surrounding this fatal rollover accident.
