Police say gunfire was exchanged between Sandoval and Jaramillo near the fuel pumps. Sandoval was struck by a bullet and later died while being transported to a nearby hospital.
On October 22, the NMSP Tactical Team arrested Murrietta while serving a search warrant. He faces charges including Accessory to Second-Degree Murder and Tampering with Evidence. Jaramillo surrendered to police the following day and is charged with Second-Degree Murder, Shooting at or from a Motor Vehicle, and Tampering with Evidence.
