Caribou, Maine – Patchy frost is possible late Friday night in northern valleys of Maine, where clear skies and calm winds could drop temperatures into the mid-30s.
According to the National Weather Service in Caribou, overnight lows may fall to 35°F in Dickey and Patten, with localized frost expected in cold pockets north of Katahdin. Friday will remain partly to mostly sunny with highs in the low to mid-60s across much of Aroostook County, warming slightly to near 70°F along the southern coast and in Bangor.
Most of the state will stay dry through Sunday, though unseasonably cool temperatures will linger. Greenville and Millinocket will dip into the 40s overnight, while Bar Harbor and Ellsworth hold in the upper 40s. A Northwest breeze today may make it feel even cooler in exposed areas, particularly across the North Maine Woods.
Residents in colder valleys should consider covering sensitive plants or bringing them indoors overnight. Despite the chill, this weekend will be ideal for outdoor plans, with no major precipitation expected until early next week.
Temperatures will trend upward starting Monday as humidity returns. Scattered showers and unsettled conditions are likely by midweek.
