Indianapolis, IN – Residents across central Indiana woke up to chilly conditions this morning, with a Frost Advisory in effect through 9 a.m. Friday, according to the National Weather Service in Indianapolis.

Temperatures have dropped into the low 30s to around 40°F, with wind chills making it feel even colder — between 26 and 38°F in some areas. While stronger winds in the far northeast have limited frost potential there, calmer conditions elsewhere have allowed frost to develop, especially in rural and low-lying locations.

Homeowners and gardeners are advised to cover or bring in sensitive plants and avoid watering overnight to reduce the risk of frost damage.

Skies will clear later today, with sunshine helping temperatures rebound into the 50s by afternoon.
