Burlington, VT — Northern Vermont will start this Saturday under a blanket of clouds, but improvements arrive later in the day as drier air moves in from the west. According to the National Weather Service in Burlington, skies will gradually begin to clear by late morning, with much better conditions expected through the afternoon.

Despite today’s clearing trend, temperatures will feel noticeably colder than yesterday. Highs across much of the region will only reach the mid-30s to around 40, several degrees below late-November averages. Early morning wind chills have already dipped into the single digits and teens, making for a brisk start to the weekend.

A few light snow showers will linger over northeastern Vermont and areas of higher terrain through the morning, but accumulation is expected to be minor. Most communities will remain dry once the clouds begin to scatter later in the day.

Winds will also play a role in today’s weather pattern. Northwest winds of 5 to 15 mph are expected, with occasional gusts up to 25 mph early, gradually diminishing during the afternoon. While the breeze eases, the combination of colder temperatures and lingering wind may still make it feel chilly well into the day.

By afternoon, skies should turn partly sunny for much of the region, offering a brighter—but still cold—finish to Saturday. Tonight will bring another round of cold air, with temperatures falling into the low 20s for many locations.

Residents heading outdoors today should dress in layers, especially during the early morning hours when wind chills remain the lowest. The forecast stays seasonably cool into Sunday, with additional breaks of sun likely.
