Bellevue, IL – On Tuesday, a possible kidnapping attempt was reported in the 5000 block of Katherine Ave. Deputies from the Peoria County Sheriff’s Office responded around 7:00 p.m.

According to the Peoria County Sheriff’s Office, witnesses saw a silver sedan with tinted windows, a dented passenger door, rust on the bottom, and a loud exhaust approach a 6-year-old girl. The girl told deputies the male driver asked her to get in the car, offering candy in the trunk. A witness reported that the vehicle drove away after they stepped outside of their residence.

A possible description of the driver was provided: a male with a dark complexion, wearing a black hat, and hoop earrings. Detectives have been canvassing the area, seeking any video footage that may have captured the vehicle or the suspect.
