Chicago, IL – A cool, crisp stretch of autumn weather continues across northern Illinois, with patchy frost possible again tonight outside the city, according to the National Weather Service in Chicago.
Friday will bring mostly sunny skies and highs in the low to mid-50s, followed by overnight lows dipping into the 30s to near 40 degrees. The NWS says frost could form in outlying areas due to clear skies and light winds.
Temperatures are expected to stay seasonable through the weekend, with highs ranging from 54 to 60 degrees and lows near the 40s. Saturday and Sunday should remain mainly dry, though a few light showers may develop early next week, with rain chances around 30% or less on Monday and Tuesday.
The NWS encourages residents outside of Chicago’s urban core to protect sensitive plants and outdoor items from possible frost. Overall, forecasters say the region will enjoy classic late-October weather heading into next week.
