Chicago, IL – A warm and mostly dry weather pattern continues across northern Illinois this week, with highs in the 80s and cooler temperatures near Lake Michigan. According to the National Weather Service in Chicago, onshore winds will keep lakeside areas in the 70s while inland communities see upper 80s.

Forecasters report that today through Thursday will remain dry with partly to mostly sunny skies. Overnight lows will dip into the upper 50s to mid-60s, providing mild evenings. By Friday, however, the pattern begins to shift, with a 20 to 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms moving into the area late in the day.

The NWS notes that rain is not expected until late Friday, with most of the work week staying clear and calm. The warmest day is expected midweek, when inland temperatures could approach 89 degrees. Friday’s highs are forecast to reach the upper 70s to mid-80s before storms develop.

Residents along the lakefront should anticipate cooler breezes keeping conditions more comfortable compared to inland areas. Overall, forecasters describe the week as tranquil and mostly dry, with only minor weather disruptions expected before the weekend.
