Chicago, IL – Mostly sunny skies and mild fall temperatures will continue through Tuesday before a midweek storm system brings rain chances back to the region, according to the National Weather Service Chicago.

Highs Monday and Tuesday will range from the mid-50s to lower 60s, with overnight lows dipping into the 40s. Clouds will increase Tuesday night as a passing low-pressure system approaches from the Plains.

The best chance for rain will arrive Wednesday, mainly for areas south and west of the Chicago metro, particularly along and south of Interstate 80, where 30–60% rain probabilities are forecast. Light rainfall amounts are expected, and no severe weather is anticipated.

Temperatures will remain seasonable, with highs in the low to mid-50s and lows in the 30s to 40s through the end of the week. Drier, partly sunny weather is expected to return by Thursday and Friday, setting up a calm and cool finish to October.
