Chicago, IL – Cooler air settling into northern Illinois Sunday night may lead to patchy frost, especially in areas northwest of the Fox Valley, according to the National Weather Service in Chicago.

Overnight lows will range from the upper 30s to mid-40s, with frost most likely in rural and low-lying locations where winds calm after sunset. Monday will bring a breezy and mild day, with highs in the mid-60s, before temperatures trend downward through the middle of the week.

Forecasters say another cold front will arrive Tuesday night, ushering in a seasonably cool air mass. By Wednesday and Thursday, highs are expected in the low to mid-50s, with overnight lows dropping into the lower 30s in outlying areas and low 40s near Chicago.

No major precipitation is expected this week, aside from a brief shower chance Monday evening, as mostly dry and breezy fall weather dominates the forecast.
