Chicago, IL – A pair of fall storms will sweep across northern Illinois through Tuesday, bringing rounds of rain, gusty winds, and fluctuating temperatures across the region.
According to the National Weather Service Chicago, the first storm is moving in Saturday night with soaking rainfall and embedded thunderstorms. The heaviest rain is expected southeast of I-55, where locally heavy downpours may cause minor flooding. Winds from the northwest could reach 35 mph or higher into Sunday morning.
Sunday will remain windy with morning showers and highs near 57–61°F, followed by patchy frost overnight in some western areas.
A second system is forecast to arrive Monday into Tuesday, bringing additional showers—mainly Monday night—along with gusty southwest winds up to 30 mph. The storm will transition to cooler northwest winds exceeding 35 mph by Tuesday, when highs dip into the upper 50s.
Residents are urged to secure outdoor items and prepare for slick travel conditions at times, especially during overnight rain periods.
