Chicago, IL – A heartbreaking discovery unfolded Saturday on Chicago’s South Side, where three bodies were recovered from Lake Michigan in two separate incidents.

According to Chicago police, the first call came at 11:23 a.m. when an infant girl was found unresponsive near South Lake Shore Drive. Hours later, at 2:23 p.m., a 31-year-old woman and a 6-year-old boy were recovered near East Hayes Drive, less than two miles away.

Authorities say the deaths appear to be connected and possibly tied to a domestic dispute, though no official cause of death has been released. Police have not confirmed the identities of the victims.

The incident has shaken Chicago residents, especially those living near the lakefront, where emergency crews swarmed the area for much of the day. The locations, both along heavily traveled stretches of Lake Michigan, drew crowds as investigators worked to recover the bodies and gather evidence.

While officials stressed the investigation is ongoing, police acknowledged the tragic circumstances strongly suggest a family connection.

The Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office will conduct autopsies to determine the causes of death. Meanwhile, Chicago police detectives continue to piece together the events that led to the fatalities.

No arrests have been made, and authorities have not shared details on possible suspects. Residents are urged to remain patient as investigators work through what police describe as a “complex and deeply tragic case.”
