Chicago, IL – Above-average temperatures are expected to continue through early next week, with highs nearing 60 degrees along major corridors including Interstate 90.
According to the US National Weather Service in Chicago, cloud cover will increase through the day, though most areas are expected to remain dry. A slight chance of showers may develop tonight, mainly around and south of U.S. Highway 24.
Saturday highs are forecast between 51 and 56 degrees, including cooler readings near the Illinois lakeshore. Overnight lows are expected to drop into the lower to mid-30s.
Sunday will bring highs between 50 and 60 degrees, with some afternoon cooling possible near Lake Michigan. Monday temperatures are projected to reach between 58 and 62 degrees across much of northeast Illinois and northwest Indiana.
By Tuesday and Wednesday, highs are expected to range from the upper 50s to mid-60s, with breezy conditions developing at times. Forecast guidance shows only isolated precipitation chances — generally between 15% and 30% — with most areas remaining dry.
Communities along I-94, I-55, and I-80, including Joliet, Gary, and Kankakee, are expected to experience minimal travel impacts during this stretch of quiet weather.
The mild pattern represents well above normal temperatures for mid-February in the Chicago metro region.
Commuters and students traveling early next week may notice the extended stretch of warmer conditions compared to typical seasonal averages.
