Chicago, Illinois – High temperatures in the 40s and 50s are expected along I-90 through early next week.

According to the US National Weather Service in Chicago, generally dry and mild weather will continue through early next week and likely into the start of the following week. Afternoon highs are forecast to reach the upper 40s to mid-50s across much of northern Illinois and northwest Indiana.

Friday is expected to bring sunny conditions with highs between 48 and 53 degrees. Weekend temperatures will continue to moderate, with highs ranging from 50 to 56 degrees Saturday and Sunday. By Monday, some locations could reach 52 to 58 degrees.

These readings are well above average for mid-February, when typical highs are in the 30s. Overnight lows will generally remain in the mid-20s to low 30s, limiting refreeze concerns during the early morning hours.

While a brief shower is possible southwest of Chicago toward Peru and Paxton, most areas along I-90, I-94, I-55 and I-88 are expected to remain dry.

The milder pattern may improve road conditions across the Chicago metro area and surrounding suburbs, especially compared to recent colder stretches.

Commuters, delivery drivers and students traveling across the region may benefit from the extended stretch of dry weather through early next week.
