Chicago, IL – A stretch of milder weather will continue across northern Illinois into midweek before rain, falling temperatures, and blustery conditions arrive late Thursday and Friday.

According to the National Weather Service office in Chicago, Tuesday will be breezy but dry, with daytime highs ranging from 34 to 37 degrees. Skies will remain mostly sunny, though winds may make it feel colder at times. Overnight lows are expected to fall into the mid-20s to around 30 degrees.

Temperatures remain seasonably cool on Wednesday, with highs in the low to upper 30s. Rain chances increase late Wednesday night as warmer air moves into the region, allowing temperatures to rise overnight into the lower 30s.

The most active weather arrives on Thursday, when periods of rain are expected across the Chicago area. Daytime highs are forecast to reach the low to mid-40s, marking the warmest day of the week. Forecasters say winds will remain breezy, and temperatures are expected to fall Thursday evening as a cold front passes.

Behind the front, much colder air will settle in. Friday is expected to be blustery, with highs only reaching the low to upper 20s. Scattered flurries or brief snow showers are possible, though significant accumulation is not anticipated. Overnight lows could dip into the upper teens to low 20s.

Conditions improve slightly heading into the weekend. Highs on Saturday are forecast to rebound into the upper 30s to mid-40s, followed by upper 20s to mid-30s on Sunday, with mostly dry weather expected.

The National Weather Service advises residents to prepare for changing conditions, particularly for rain impacts Thursday and colder, windy weather Friday.
