Chicago, IL – Northwest Illinois may see a few light showers or sprinkles tonight, according to the National Weather Service Chicago. A second, slight chance of rain returns Tuesday night mainly north of Interstate 80, but otherwise the region is expected to stay mostly dry through midweek.
Forecasters said temperatures will remain seasonable, with highs ranging from the upper 60s to mid-70s and cooler conditions along Lake Michigan. Overnight lows will dip into the upper 40s and low 50s, with downtown Chicago holding near 60 degrees early in the week.
Monday should bring partly sunny skies with highs around 70–78°F. A weak front may trigger isolated showers late Tuesday, especially across northern counties, but precipitation chances stay below 30%. By Wednesday and Thursday, conditions are expected to stay dry with mild afternoons and clear nights.
The NWS noted that this stable pattern continues into late week, giving the Chicago metro area a stretch of pleasant fall weather ideal for outdoor plans.
