Chicago, IL – Temperatures across northern Illinois will continue climbing through the end of the week, bringing an unseasonably warm stretch Friday and Saturday before a cooldown Sunday, according to the National Weather Service (NWS) in Chicago.

Forecasters say high temperatures today will reach the low- to upper-50s, with mostly sunny skies and mild conditions. Overnight lows fall into the mid-30s to low-40s across the metro and surrounding suburbs.

Friday delivers another bump in temperatures, with highs rising into the upper 50s to upper 60s—roughly 15 degrees above average for mid-November. Skies remain mostly sunny, and winds stay relatively light.

Saturday is poised to be the warmest day of the stretch. Breezy conditions are expected as highs surge into the mid-60s to around 70 degrees, nearly 20 degrees above typical values for this time of year. The warmth will be widespread from Rockford and McHenry to Joliet, Kankakee, and northwest Indiana.

Sunday brings a noticeable shift as cooler air filters in behind the departing ridge. Highs fall back into the upper 40s to low 50s, and winds remain breezy at times. Lows Sunday night dip into the mid-20s to mid-30s, marking a return to near-normal November temperatures.

The next chance for rain arrives Monday night into Tuesday, when a developing system brings scattered showers and thicker cloud cover. Highs Monday will reach the mid-40s to low 50s, with overnight lows in the low 30s to low 40s.

The upcoming warm spell is one of the more pronounced November warm-ups this fall season, offering Chicagoans a brief taste of springlike air before temperatures settle back closer to normal.
