Chicago, IL – Warm summer-like conditions will continue across Illinois into early next week, though a few storm chances could disrupt the stretch of dry weather.

According to the National Weather Service Chicago, temperatures will remain well above normal, with highs ranging from the mid-80s to lower 90s through Monday. While most of the period will stay dry, forecasters say isolated showers and thunderstorms are possible late Friday night into Saturday morning, and again Saturday evening.

Thursday is expected to be sunny and warm, with highs near 85 degrees and overnight lows dropping into the mid-50s. By Friday, humidity increases, and clouds will build with a 20% chance of storms developing late in the evening.

Saturday brings the best chance for unsettled weather, with scattered morning storms possible and another round during the evening. Daytime highs will hover near 90 degrees. On Sunday, partly sunny skies return with temperatures pushing into the low 90s, especially away from Lake Michigan. The warm stretch continues into Monday with highs in the upper 80s and dry conditions likely.

Travelers and outdoor event planners are advised to stay alert for quick changes in the forecast, particularly Friday night and Saturday. While storms are expected to remain isolated, lightning and brief downpours may affect localized areas.
