According to the US National Weather Service Chicago Illinois, the strongest storms could bring wind gusts up to 40 mph, flash flooding on local roads and fields, and isolated power outages. Areas including Lombard, Joliet, Elgin, and Kankakee are all within the main threat zone, with the most dangerous conditions expected through 8 p.m.
