CHEYENNE, Wyo. – Wyoming residents will see a mix of summer warmth and afternoon thunderstorms this week, with rain chances building toward Friday as cooler air moves into the region. Highs will stay in the 70s and 80s, with some spots briefly touching the low 90s before temperatures ease heading into the weekend.

According to the National Weather Service in Cheyenne, isolated showers and storms will be possible Tuesday, with coverage becoming more widespread by midweek. Wednesday carries the best chance for thunderstorms, especially in the east, as moisture and cloud cover increase.

Travelers along I-25 and I-80 should be prepared for rapidly changing conditions in the afternoons, when storms could bring brief heavy rain, lightning, and gusty winds. Outdoor events may see delays or interruptions, particularly Wednesday and Thursday.

By Friday, cooler air will shift into the state, bringing highs back into the 70s and producing more widespread showers across central and eastern Wyoming. Residents are urged to keep devices charged in case of power disruptions and to limit outdoor activity during peak storm hours in the late afternoon.

Storm chances continue into the weekend, and additional advisories may be issued if severe weather develops.
