Cheyenne, Wyoming — Southeast Wyoming is heading into a milder and mostly quiet weather pattern next week, according to the National Weather Service in Cheyenne, though gusty winds and a brief cooldown will bring changing conditions for travelers along major corridors including Interstate 25 and Interstate 80.

Monday will feature partly cloudy skies and above-average temperatures, with highs reaching the upper 40s to near 50 east of I-25. Winds will remain manageable early in the week, but conditions begin to change Tuesday as a weak cold front moves through during the morning hours.

Behind the front, temperatures will dip slightly, and northwest winds will increase to 15–25 mph, with gusts as high as 30–35 mph, especially near open stretches of I-25 between Cheyenne and Wheatland. While widespread precipitation is not expected across the plains, mountain snow chances may develop Tuesday, which could briefly impact higher-elevation travel routes.

Wednesday brings a return to mostly sunny skies, though temperatures will remain cooler, with highs generally in the 40s. Winds will continue to be breezy at times, particularly during the afternoon.

A noticeable warming trend sets in Thursday as temperatures rebound into the 50s, accompanied by breezy southwest winds. By Friday, some locations east of I-25 may approach near-60-degree highs, making it one of the warmest days of the week. However, wind gusts of 25–35 mph could again impact high-profile vehicles, especially along I-80 west of Cheyenne.

Little to no precipitation is expected outside the mountains through the end of the week, but residents and travelers should remain alert for rapid temperature swings and periods of strong wind. Motorists are advised to monitor forecasts closely, particularly during the Tuesday morning commute and late-week travel periods.
