Chesterton, Indiana: Fatal SUV-Semi Collision on US 30 Results in Death

Chesterton, IN – A tragic incident occurred on U.S. Highway 30 in Union Township early this morning, resulting in the death of a motorist. The Porter County Sheriff’s Police (PCSP) has confirmed the fatal crash involving a Chevrolet SUV and a semi-tractor trailer.

According to the PCSP, the accident happened at approximately 7:47 a.m. The male driver of the SUV was traveling eastbound on U.S. 30, near the Porter/Lake county line, when his vehicle collided with a semi in the same lane. Tragically, he was pronounced dead at the scene.

The PCSP has stated that the cause of the crash is currently under investigation.
