Chemung County, NY – A Chemung County couple is facing multiple felony and misdemeanor charges following an alleged burglary at a local Masonic lodge, according to authorities.

According to the Chemung County Sheriff’s Office, 38-year-old Jennifer L. Malorzo and 35-year-old Nicholas P. Malorzo, both of Waverly, New York, were arrested after an investigation into a burglary at the Masonic Valley Lodge 153 in the Town of Chemung.

Deputies were dispatched to the lodge at approximately 7:16 p.m. on November 28, 2025, after a burglary was reported. Investigators determined the building had been forcibly entered and property inside was damaged and stolen, officials said.

Surveillance footage reviewed during the investigation allegedly showed two adults and three young children — all under the age of eight — approaching the building. According to investigators, one adult is seen forcing entry into the lodge while the children remained in a vehicle. The adults then allegedly returned to the building, removed property, and left the area.

As a result of the investigation, both Jennifer and Nicholas Malorzo were arrested and charged with burglary in the third degree, criminal mischief in the second degree, endangering the welfare of a child, and petit larceny. Jennifer Malorzo was additionally charged with burglary in the second degree.

Both defendants were arraigned in the Town of Chemung Court and released on their own recognizance. They are scheduled to appear in court at a later date.

Authorities also confirmed the case was referred to the Tioga County Child Protective Services due to the presence of the children during the alleged crime. All charges are allegations, and the defendants are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
