Elmira, NY – The Chemung County Sheriff’s Office released its daily arrest report Thursday, detailing two separate incidents that led to arrests earlier this week.
According to Sheriff William A. Schrom, deputies arrested Mason D. Shephard, 27, of Horseheads, on Tuesday, Sept. 9, after a motor vehicle accident in the Town of Southport. Shephard was charged with reckless endangerment in the second degree, a Class A misdemeanor. Deputies also cited him for aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle in the third degree and driving while intoxicated, both unclassified misdemeanors. He was arraigned in Southport Town Court and later released.
In a separate case, Amanda M. Young, 34, of Gillett, Pennsylvania, was arrested Wednesday, Sept. 10, for petit larceny, a Class A misdemeanor. Deputies said Young allegedly stole items from Walmart in the Town of Horseheads. She was issued an appearance ticket and is scheduled to appear in Horseheads Town Court at a later date.
Both cases remain under court review.
