Chelan, WA – A late-evening pursuit through Chelan County ended Sunday night after a driver allegedly fled from deputies during a traffic stop attempt, according to the Chelan County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies say the incident began around 7:40 p.m. on November 23, 2025, when a patrol unit monitoring traffic in the 800 block of West Manson Road observed a silver sedan traveling well above the posted speed limit. As the deputy initiated lights to conduct a stop, the vehicle allegedly accelerated to over 20 miles per hour above the limit, prompting a pursuit due to the potential danger to other motorists.
According to Chief Ryan Moody, the suspect continued eastbound on West Manson Road, turned north onto Golf Course Road, and briefly attempted to evade deputies. When the vehicle was found again near Golf Course Road and West Manson Road, a deputy executed a Pursuit Intervention Technique (PIT) maneuver, bringing the chase to an end.
The suspect, later identified as 37-year-old Charlie Suarez of Chelan, allegedly advanced toward deputies after exiting the vehicle and ignored commands to stop. Authorities report that a Taser was deployed, allowing officers to take him safely into custody.
No injuries to deputies or bystanders were reported. Suarez faces multiple charges, including Attempting to Elude a Police Vehicle, Driving Under the Influence, and Reckless Driving, according to the Sheriff’s Office.
