Chelan County, WA – Evacuation zones in Chelan County were updated Wednesday evening as firefighters brace for worsening wildfire conditions later this week.

According to Chelan County Emergency Management, Level 3 “Go Now” evacuations for the Labor Mountain Fire have been extended across U.S. 97. While the expansion does not currently impact homes or structures, officials warned the fire could quickly spread if strong winds push flames over the highway. The U.S. Forest Service also plans to close additional lands east of the highway where the Level 3 order is in effect.

On the west side of the county, evacuation levels around the Lower Sugarloaf Fire have shifted. Fire officials downgraded advisories on the Plain side to Level 1 but raised areas near Entiat River Road to Level 3 evacuations. This includes the stretch from Roaring Creek Road up to Crum Canyon Road. Other sections of Entiat River Road remain under Level 2 warnings. Authorities urged residents who do not live in the Entiat Valley to avoid the area entirely.

A community meeting for Valley-Hi residents is scheduled at 6 p.m. Wednesday at 3430 Allen Lane. Emergency staff will provide updates and answer questions in person.

Chelan County Emergency Management said all other evacuation levels remain the same, but conditions could change rapidly with high winds expected Thursday and Friday. Officials will reassess evacuation orders at the end of the week.
