North Carolina – Sunshine is already heating up neighborhoods across Charlotte this afternoon, and the air is shifting quickly toward a summer-like pattern. What feels like a comfortable spring day now will turn noticeably hotter within the next 48 hours.

According to the National Weather Service, highs climb from 84°F today to 83°F Monday, then jump to 88°F Tuesday and peak near 90°F Wednesday. Light winds today give way to occasional gusts near 22 mph Monday, especially across open areas and major roadways.

Drivers along I-85, I-77, and Independence Boulevard should watch for shifting winds Monday afternoon. While roads stay dry, gusts could impact high-profile vehicles and create minor travel disruptions.

By Tuesday, the warming trend becomes more noticeable. Pavement heats quickly under full sun, and shaded areas become limited during peak afternoon hours. Plan breaks if spending extended time outdoors.

Wednesday brings the peak heat so far this season, with highs near 90°F under clear skies. Buildings and roads retain warmth into the evening, keeping overnight lows mild in the mid-60s.

Thursday continues the trend with highs near 91°F and mostly sunny skies. This sustained warmth signals a broader shift toward above-normal temperatures across the Southeast heading into late week.

Five Day Outlook for Charlotte, North Carolina:
Today: Sunny, high 84°F
Monday: Partly sunny, high 83°F
Tuesday: Sunny, high 88°F
Wednesday: Sunny, high 90°F
