Greenville, SC – The National Weather Service in Greenville-Spartanburg has issued a Frost Advisory from 2 a.m. to 9 a.m. EDT Saturday, warning of temperatures dropping to near 35°F across parts of northeast Georgia, the North Carolina Piedmont, and Upstate South Carolina.

According to the NWS, frost formation is likely overnight into early Saturday morning, particularly in low-lying and sheltered areas. The advisory covers a wide area including Charlotte, Gastonia, Salisbury, Statesville, Greenville, Spartanburg, Anderson, Clemson, and Toccoa.

Residents are encouraged to cover or bring in sensitive plants to prevent damage as the first widespread frost of the season settles in. Unprotected vegetation and outdoor gardens could be harmed if left uncovered through the early morning hours.

The advisory includes multiple counties across three states—Iredell, Rowan, Cabarrus, Mecklenburg, Union (NC); York, Laurens, Chester, Anderson, and Greenville (SC); and Stephens, Franklin, Hart, and Elbert (GA)—signaling a regional cooldown to start the weekend.

This event marks the start of more seasonable November weather for the Carolinas and northeast Georgia, with daytime temperatures expected to rebound under clear skies Saturday afternoon.
