Charleston, W.Va. – Scattered thunderstorms are expected to linger across central West Virginia through Wednesday night, raising concerns about heavy downpours before a stretch of sunny weather arrives to close out the week.

Some storms could produce higher rainfall amounts in localized spots, especially during the afternoon and evening commute hours. Overnight lows will remain muggy, near 67 degrees, under mostly cloudy skies.

Travelers along Interstates 64 and 77 could face slick spots and brief visibility reductions during heavier downpours.
