Charleston, WV – West Virginia is off to a quiet and pleasant Saturday, with sunshine and mild fall temperatures opening the weekend, according to the US National Weather Service Charleston WV.

Forecasters say dry weather will hold through the day under high pressure, with highs between 60 and 75 degrees across the region. Overnight lows will dip into the low to upper 40s.

A coastal disturbance will approach Sunday, bringing clouds and a chance of light rain mainly across the eastern mountains, including areas of the Greenbrier Valley and Potomac Highlands. Most of central and western West Virginia will remain dry.

By Monday, drier weather will return statewide, followed by a gradual warming trend early next week. Highs Monday through Wednesday are expected to stay in the 60s to low 70s, with clear skies and seasonable conditions through midweek.

The Weather Service says the extended forecast shows no major rain or cold outbreaks, offering ideal conditions for leaf peeping and travel through the Columbus Day holiday.
