Charleston, WV – Residents across West Virginia can expect mild and mainly dry conditions through at least Tuesday, according to the US National Weather Service Charleston WV.
Forecasters said Sunday that Tropical Depression 9, once a potential concern for the state, is increasingly expected to remain to the east, keeping its moisture away from the region. This means most areas will experience minimal impacts as the new week begins.
Today’s forecast calls for morning fog followed by sunshine and dry weather. Temperatures are expected to reach the lower to mid-80s in the lowlands and upper 60s to lower 70s in the mountains.
On Monday, skies will turn mostly cloudy with highs again in the lower to mid-80s across lower elevations. Mountain areas will range from the mid-60s to lower 70s. A few stray showers may develop near higher terrain.
Tuesday’s outlook is similar, with mostly cloudy skies and a slight chance of showers near the mountains. Lowland highs will run in the upper 70s to lower 80s, while mountain regions hold steady in the lower 60s to lower 70s.
The National Weather Service continues to monitor Tropical Depression 9 but emphasizes that West Virginia’s forecast remains primarily dry, with only limited chances of showers in higher terrain areas.
