Charleston, SC – The US National Weather Service Charleston says a soaking rain is expected across the Lowcountry and coastal Georgia beginning Thursday night and continuing through Sunday evening.
🌧️ Friday: The heaviest rain, up to 1.25 inches, will fall northwest of the I-16/I-95/US-17 corridor. Coastal Georgia and areas south of I-16 can expect lighter amounts between 0.25 to 0.75 inches.
🌧️ Saturday: A widespread wet day with totals ranging 0.75 to 1.25 inches expected for most areas.
🌧️ Sunday: Rain tapers off but lingers in southern Georgia as a cold front pushes through.
Motorists should anticipate wet roads, reduced visibility, and longer braking distances. The Weather Service advises using caution and headlights during rain, especially during the Friday morning commute.
