La Plata, MD – Teen drivers in Charles County are invited to attend a free safety presentation this Wednesday, October 22, 2025, hosted by the Charles County Sheriff’s Office Youth Engagement Unit. The event will take place at Sheriff’s Headquarters, 6915 Crain Highway in La Plata, beginning at 6 p.m.

According to the Charles County Sheriff’s Office, the program—titled “Don’t Be Distracted, Arrive Alive!”—is part of National Teen Driver Safety Week, which runs from October 19–25. It’s open to all high school students ages 14 to 19, regardless of whether they have a driver’s license.

The presentation aims to educate young drivers about the risks of distracted and impaired driving, while offering real-world advice for staying safe on Maryland roads. Parents are also encouraged to attend.
