Waldorf, MD – Detectives in Charles County have arrested a Hughesville man in connection with a reported “Peeping Tom” case earlier this month.

According to the Charles County Sheriff’s Office, the investigation began September 2, when a caller reported seeing a man outside a ground-floor apartment in the 1100 block of Heritage Place in Waldorf around 7 a.m. The suspect was allegedly observed looking through a bedroom window while engaging in an indecent act. A witness recorded the incident and told police the individual left in a white vehicle.

Detectives say they were able to positively identify the suspect, 42-year-old Emanuel Jermaine Simmons. An arrest warrant was obtained, and Simmons turned himself in on September 18. During a search of his home, investigators reportedly found additional evidence linking him to the case. Simmons has been charged with trespassing, “Peeping Tom,” and indecent exposure.

On September 19, a judge released Simmons from the Charles County Detention Center on electronic monitoring and house arrest. Authorities confirmed the investigation remains ongoing.
