Charges Filed in Streator, IL Armed Robbery After Gunshots Reported Near Main Street

Streator, IL — Police arrested two suspects following an investigation triggered by reported gunshots near Everett and Main Street on November 3. Authorities executed a search warrant on Tuesday in the 700 block of E. Bridge Street, where they detained two individuals allegedly connected to an attempted armed robbery.

Streator Police charged 34-year-old Derek E. Dill Jr. with multiple felonies, including attempted armed robbery, vehicular invasion, and armed habitual criminal offenses. Dill faces a Class X felony charge, the most severe under Illinois law. Additionally, 24-year-old Bryanna M. Stash has been charged with attempted robbery, a Class 3 felony, according to police.

Both Dill and Stash are being held at LaSalle County Jail, awaiting their upcoming detention hearings. The Streator Police Department, aided by TRI-DENT, the LaSalle County Sheriff’s Office, and the LaSalle County State’s Attorney, managed the investigation.

Police remind the public that both suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in court.
