Channahon, IL – A rollover crash left a driver trapped inside their vehicle along West Front Street near the Des Plaines River boat launch on Sunday afternoon. The single-vehicle accident occurred when the car struck a tree and flipped onto its roof, sustaining severe damage.
Channahon Fire Protection District personnel responded to the crash at approximately 4:45 p.m. and reported significant vehicle damage with the driver pinned inside. According to emergency responders, the driver was conscious and breathing as extrication efforts began. Lifestar, a medical helicopter, was requested to assist with the patient’s transport due to the severity of the crash.
Authorities advised residents to avoid the area to allow emergency crews to work. Extrication teams continued working to safely remove the driver from the wreckage. The full extent of the driver’s injuries remains unclear. Local police are investigating the cause of the accident.
